Mobile phones become 'Entertainment Passports' at GRINSPOON Concerts

The Metro Theatre in Sydney has used Mobiqa technology to offer GRINSPOON fans the first ever triple redemption MOBI-TICKET direct to their mobile phones.

More mobi-tickets than paper

52% of people booking for the two sell-out concerts chose to receive their tickets directly to their mobile phone in the form of a MOBI-TICKET - an SMS message with a unique bar code - rather than receive a paper ticket.

Mobile phones were scanned at the venue for speedy processing and the MOBI-TICKET also offered a discount on Tooheys Extra Dry at the Bar and a limited edition Grinspoon trucker cap when fans pre order the new GRINSPOON CD at all HMV Stores in NSW.

GRINSPOON manager, Gregg Donovan said "MOBI-TICKETS provide us with a way to communicate with consumers in a cost effective way and involve other related merchandise."

Bar sales increase with MOBI-TICKET offer

Sales of Tooheys Extra Dry product increased by 42% when members of the GRINSPOON audience returned to the bar after the show to redeem the special offer on their MOBI-TICKET. The technology offers a way to increase value for concert goers by adding special discounts and great offers as part of their ticket to enhance the entertainment experience.

HMV first music retailer to use MOBI-COUPONS

HMV is the first Australian music retailer to embrace mobile barcode technology. The company decided to partner with Universal Music, the record label behind GRINSPOON, and make a special offer available to GRINSPOON fans who received their ticket as a MOBI-TICKET.

35% of MOBI-TICKET holders visited an HMV store to order the new GRINSPOON CD and receive the bonus trucker cap.
